WOW! What a place!
DESCRIPTION: My wife and I ate at the Bay Voyage last week, and I have not had a meal like that in years. The food, the service, and the views of the harbor made it one of the best dining experiences we have had since moving to New England 7 years ago. One of the best restaurants in New England!

Disappointment
DESCRIPTION: On Sunday, 2-29-04 I invited several guests to join me for brunch. A party of six. This was a family gathering, the first since the death of a loved one. The food was excellent and the service wonderful. We paid the bill - $220.00 and were finishing our meal. Apparently we didn't move fast enough as the hostess came over to the table and told us people were waiting and asked us to leave. I was shocked and so were other guests. I felt embarassed for the family who was grieving and tried miserably to cover up the embarassment. What a shame.

Fantastic
DESCRIPTION: We ate at the Bay Voyage last Thursday and enjoyed ourselves so much! They had live music and the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all tremendous! My hats off to the Bay Voyage Inn for one of the best dining experiences we have had in years.

DESCRIPTION: The food here is always prepared with top-quality ingredients and the flavor really hits you in the face, but it's rather hit-and-miss. The fusion combos that work are really good, though. Though I gave it 2 stars, some of the food is 3-4 star quality.

DESCRIPTION: Our favorite non-tourist spot. Definitely a local place. The decor is avante garde, the food is mostly seafood and pasta...and all good, the service is very friendly and prompt, and the prices are extremely reasonable.

High Priced Fast Food
DESCRIPTION: The prices were consistent with regular sit-down Asian restraunts. While the food was good, the portions were quite small and both my husband and I were still hungry when we left--despite paying around $10 each for our meal.

DESCRIPTION: I really enjoy a good meal, especially if it is Japanese food. Todai had variety of delicious fish and if people were not a great fan for raw fish there is another side that has teriyaki chicken and much more. with so many sushi to pick all were very pleaseing, but the soup could of been a bit better.

Lexington is lucky
DESCRIPTION: Lexington is lucky to have such a fine restaurant. In a larger city, this would be a $50/plate restaurant. They even make their own vegetarian "chicken" (called kwachik) which is even better than the real thing. Attentive staff, nice accommodations, and the best Asian food around--you can't go wrong at Winds!

DESCRIPTION: great, great food. I had sesame tofu and it was the best cooked tofu I've ever had. I also tasted the kwachic at the recommendation of a friend and I truely believe it to be the best artificial meat dish I have ever tasted. The service was good; prompt and courteous, and I found the atmosphere to be very pleasant. This place has become one of my favorite restaurants and I plan to return to it often.

Mr. Hsiung Yao (Mr. 'Harrison') Makes Dining Experience Exceptional!
DESCRIPTION: Our group has dined at Lexington, Kentucky's Asian Wind for about two years, now. First, and foremost, is the head-waiter (officially, or not), Mr. Hsiung Yao, who calls himself 'Harrison'. (Interestingly enough, Asian Wind's owner is referred to as 'George'. (George / Harrison -- Get it?) At any rate, Mr. Harrison is the primary reason to visit Asian Wind! Yes, the food is beyond belief! However, Mr. Harrison adds the character you require to experience the true, unbelievable delight of oriental dining at its best! Asian Wind is a most singular opportunity to lose yourself in Asian dining. Regardless of what you order, you will be amazed! If you are particularly hungry, ask for the dinner menu. It will cost you more, but you will find yourself overstuffed! I particularly recommend the Kwachik hot & sour soup for two (2)! The Kwachik is a soy-based meat substitute which is supplied from Westerville, Ohio, and tastes like God Almighty must have made it! There is a companion version called Kwabif, which is a soy-based replacement for actual beef. If you prefer seafood (the real thing), then I suggest you order any of their excellent shrimp dishes. You will walk away in a state of questionably-legal euphoria.

Would definitely recommend!
DESCRIPTION: I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves different, tasty Chinese food. I am not a vegetarian, but tried the Kwachik and it was so good, I now get it every time I go! I usually try different dishes, so it is hard to give a recommended dish, but I always either get the crab ragoon or a bowl of hot-and-sour soup to start off with. They are both excellent! Nothing I have ever eaten there has tasted bad - you can't go wrong with Wind!

Great food great times
DESCRIPTION: Our party of seven received prompt and courteous service. We all tried different dishes and all were excellent. The menu is huge and we look forward to trying more offerings on our next visit. The owners are native of the Philippines and have brought a piece of the islands to the Triangle. I highly recommend Kainan Filipino Restaurant.

Excellent food
DESCRIPTION: It is too bad I found Kainan my last day visiting Raleigh/Durham. The food and service were excellent. I had an appetizer that I could not pronounce, but it was perfect. I don't know what the name of my entree' was but it was pork with carrots in a tomato garlic sauce. I also had the Philipino rice which was also excellent. The only thing that they did not have was iced tea, but they are in the process of getting this. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return next time I am in town.

Great Experience
DESCRIPTION: My group of 5 really enjoyed Kainan! We especially liked the lumpia (soft rolled appetizer w/ shrimp), very tender pork in pineapple juice, and kare-kare (beef w/ peanut sauce). I hope to make it to the grocery next door (same owners), the only Filipino store unless you drive to the east side of Raleigh.

Pretensious but tasty dining
DESCRIPTION: It is located in the old Berkeley train station. The food is good. The waiters are helpful. The presentation is excellent. Vegetarian choices are not exceedingly numerous but are sufficient. The dessert menu is amazingly good. You can show up just for dessert and sit in the bar area, which is a lounge with a bunch of couches and comfy arm chairs. The warm chocolate cake is especially good. The other nice thing is that they have real chopsticks and not the single use disposable kind.
